Training
& Services

  • Our dogs need to fit into our everyday lives, and the best place to start is at home.

For new clients, the first session is a 2-hour behavior consultation and training session. This allows me to get to know your dog and their environment and understand their specific behaviors and training needs. In this first session, we establish a training plan and start training.

    Session Rates
The initial 2-hour session starts at $250. Follow-up sessions are generally 1 hour and start at $150.*

*Please note prices for in-home training vary depending on travel time.

  • Some dogs and owners find it easier to train here, outside of the home.

The same as in-home training, new client sessions are always a 2-hour behavior consultation and training session. This allows me to get to know your dog, learn about their environment, and understand its specific behaviors and training needs. In this first session, we establish a training plan and start training.

Additionally, Board & Train options are available for established clients who have already had their first session. Contact for more details.

    Session Rates
The initial 2-hour session starts at $200. Follow-up sessions are generally 1 hour and start at $100.

  • Going out of town and want to make sure your dog is well taken care of in a comfortable setting and looked after by a trusted professional?

    Boarding Rates

    • 1 dog - $45 per day

    • 2 dogs - $82 per day

    • 3+ dogs - discounted pricing available

    • Interested in Board & Train options? Contact for more details.

    Hours
Standard hours for drop-off and pick-up are 9:00am - 9:00pm, but these times can vary.

    Additional Care
If your dog requires specialized care, like a substantial medication or feeding regimen, I’m happy to accommodate for an additional fee.

  • Did you recently adopt a dog and aren’t sure how they do around other dogs? Could your dog be leash-reactive? Or maybe your dog had a bad experience at a doggie daycare or dog park? Let's work together to get you and your dog feeling confident in social settings.

Each case is unique, so contact me for more details on socialization training.

*Behavioral advice cannot be given before your first training appointment.

Success Stories

Courtenay K. & Indigo

Tisha was an enormous help with our reactive rescue dog, Indigo. We knew very little, and she compassionately and patiently walked us through some difficult behaviors and a challenging move. I understand my dog so much better now and have a bond I never would have achieved without her help. I really believe her assistance and continued support saved the life of a very sweet & loyal but highly anxious and traumatized cattle dog.

Brent B. & Hank

I can't recommend Tisha enough. She's been such a reliable trainer and a great resource of knowledge for us since we adopted our dog, Hank, five years ago. She had already worked with Hank prior to us adopting him. It has been very comforting for us to have someone that Hank is familiar with and who is familiar with Hank. She's also been a great resource of knowledge when we've needed advice on certain training situations. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, reliable, and trustworthy person to help with your dog(s) then I wouldn't hesitate to contact Tisha.

JLIP & Missy

Our experience has been life changing related to our dog! She had the highest recommendations, and her wealth of knowledge & practical advice helped us tremendously. Her work socializing Missy with other dogs worked like magic. The very next time we took her on the dreaded walk, she behaved & we were amazed! Her tips and insights, along with personalized attention & training, have been invaluable. It’s very comforting to always know we have her as a resource. Sincerely.

Margaret G.

I have worked with Tisha for 15+ years with the dogs I have for a variety of issues - socialization, manners, reactivity, introducing a new dog to your home and pack, etc. Tisha brings her wealth of knowledge, experience, and a behavior plan to create a positive environment for you and your dog(s). She is wonderful with her follow-up, available for questions, and her genuine interest in your dog, as if they were one of her own. I have been so grateful to see my dogs become “normal” dogs and thrive under her care. And I so appreciate how she has taught me how to care for them. I highly recommend Second Chance Canine, LLC.

About

Second Chance Canine started out of my deep passion for helping animals and a desire to address issues that lead to pet relinquishment. It all began in 1999 when I started volunteering at my local Humane Society. Witnessing the heartbreaking reality of how many animals ended up in shelters due to unresolved pet problems motivated me to take action.

In 2004, I started working at the shelter on weekends, facilitating adoptions while maintaining a full-time corporate job. However, the growing need to make a more significant impact led me to leave my corporate job in 2009 and pursue animal advocacy and training on a full-time basis.

Now, as a certified, professional dog trainer and mom, I am passionate about instilling values of love and kindness towards animals in my own daughter and in the families I serve.
